Auckland, 15 October 2009 – A2 Corporation Limited (A2C) Chairman, Cliff Cook announced today that the A2C Board had accepted the resignations of Grant Paterson and Wayne Burt.
“Mr Paterson joined the A2C Board in August 2003 following the untimely death of his brother Howard. Since I became involved as a director at the Company, it was very apparent to me that Grant was an important member of the Board contributing his significant business and dairying knowledge to the Company” Mr Cook said.
“Grant is one of New Zealand’s largest and most successful dairy farmers and is acutely aware of the challenges New Zealand food producers face in the international market place. His focus and understanding of how to bring about success in business has been hugely valuable to the Company. Grant continues to be actively involved with his business interests and now feels it is time to resign from the A2C Board to enable him to concentrate his efforts on his farming enterprises. I’m very sorry that Grant has decided to resign and I personally want to wish him well in the future.”
“Dr Burt has been involved as a director and adviser to A2C since its inception and over the years has brought to the Company his wealth of experience in the international capital markets and the commercialising of start-up companies. Wayne lead successful investment banking teams at Deutsche Bank and Macquarie Bank for many years before establishing his own investment vehicles in Europe and internationally. He has recently been responsible for the establishment and successful growth of several major business ventures in diverse sectors. Wayne has chosen to focus on his interests away from A2C and hence his decision to resign. I want to thank him for his efforts and contribution over the years and wish him the very best of luck for the future,” Cook added.
